Eagle Research Freebie & Guest Blog- Who Me?

I have really been working hard with my students this year on writing.  Our TN standards require that our 2nd graders be able to gather relevant information from a variety of sources and be able to present the information in a simple research report.  I've tried to include a mini research project each month and January's just so happened to fall in the middle of our government study.

One of the activities in my Local, State, and National Government unit is centered on our national bird, the Bald Eagle.  With the help of a few good books from my classroom library, an ancient Zoobook Magazine, and a handful of student laptops, we were able to complete our Cooperative Learning Group Eagle Research projects today.

You can snag your own free copy of the eagle research project by clicking here or by clicking any of the pictures below.  Included are a page of websites for online research, the graphic organizer and writing prompt.  Enjoy!
(If you download the freebie, please consider following my site through google connect (on the right side of the page), networked blogs, facebook, or twitter.  It means a lot!)

Preschool TeacherIn other news....I just finished my first ever guest blog post for Lori at Cachey Mama's Classroom!  She has a great weekly post called "Wishlist Wednesday" and I was honored to be this week's featured blogger.

Stop by here for a read and let me know what you think!

P.S.- I am dedicating this freebie to the wonderful life of fellow teacher and blogger, Pam Woods {The Vintage Teacher}.  May her contributions to our profession live on for always.

  2. So cool. "Thanks" from a fellow 2nd grade teacher!

  3. Thanks so much for giving us this great item. I just wish I hadn't found it at 2 a.m. My granddaughter woke up and is trying to finish it before she falls back to sleep.

  4. Thank you so much for this research freebie! I used a new Ipad app for research last week. It was great! I posted about it on my blog for my May 24 Five for Friday if you are interested.
