Books to TWEET About! {Free}

Well it was definitely time to take down our winter book recommendations {Marshmallow Writing} even though I feel like we haven't had an official winter yet.  Not one snow day for us this year! Boo.  But I will say that we were very ready for spring time!!
We had a blast with our new persuasive writing craft...Books to Tweet About!
We began by brainstorming about our recently finished books and wrote down our thoughts on why our friends should read them too.  {Think Reading Rainbow style...the t.v. show}  We wrote our final copies on a speech bubble and cut them out.  Let me tell you that most of these book recommendations are VERY convincing!  I'm sure you know that one of the reasons that authors write is to persuade....well, I think we've got this one down pat now.  ;-)
We dipped our feet in paint to create the body/tail of a bird and filled in the rest of it with a combination of paint and markers.  Then we added the finishing touches to our masterpiece by adding a little spring-themed detail to it.  And voila! Books to tweet about!  My kids get so excited every time they see a crowd of students hanging out in the hallway, reading their recommendations.  It also helps that our display is on the wall beside the can't help but read them as they are waiting in line!
