Common Core Readiness Anchor Standards and ELA Shifts {Free}

I had a request from a sweet friend to type up a simple version of the Common Core Readiness Anchor Standards.  As with many states, my state and district is transitioning to Common Core and is emphasizing the 3 key shifts in ELA/literacy.  Are you familiar with these shifts?  These shifts and their characteristics are from the SAP (Student Achievement Partners) that is a non-profit organization working with CCSS founders.  You can visit their website and download a great deal of information about these shifts {here}.  The wording on this poster is straight from their site- I only created a visual for it.

If you are interested, you can download a copy of the shifts poster and the Readiness Anchor Standards  by clicking any of the images.  They are simple but important! :)

I plan to post these in my classroom as a reminder for myself and a teaching tool for my students along with the Mathematical Practice Standards I created last spring.  {You can click the image to grab the math ones as well!}

I hope you can use these too!

  4. Mary,
    I love the visual plans you posted I think they are a great tool for seasoned and new teachers. I love comparing what I'm doing with other teachers across the country. It makes me want to change mine up a bit. Thank you for sharing and creating such wonderful products.
