A Patriotic FREEBIE for Rhyming Words!

Tomorrow is Halloween which means Veterans Day is just around the corner!  I've put together this write the room activity for my kids to use during stations next week.  It will give them some practice with recognizing and producing rhyming words (CCSS K.RF.2a).  Click {here} or on an image to download your own copy for free.  I hope someone else can use it too! :)

Last Week's Recap {Picture Dump}

We have had SO much going on over the last few weeks that it seems somewhat appropriate to just have a picture dump.  Here's some randomness from the week that I am attempting to organize by topic:

charts, charts, and more charts

Acting out 5 Little Bats {our weekly poem from Deedee Wills}
By the way....they are hanging upside down like bats.  :)

Watercolor fun to reveal our "magic"sight words

Bats! {adapted from Miss Kindergarten}

Pumpkin Life Cycle

Thanks for taking a picture walk with me.  I'll be back tomorrow with next week's visual plans!

Bats! Weekly Visual Plans

This week is all about bats!  I am forgoing our weekly story from our reading series until it fits more appropriately with the seasons (the next 2 stories are about hibernation and winter).  That leaves plenty of room for last week's pumpkin activities and this week and next for bats, spiders, and all things Halloween.  :)

Here's the plan:

Pumpkins & Some FRIGHTfully Fun Stations! :)

I'm still exhausted from last week's pumpkin-ing! But boy, what fun! :)
We weighed, measured, cut them up, counted seeds, carved them and loads more.
Here's my week in pictures:
I will be back tomorrow with my weekly plans.  I've spent all day working on a new Halloween unit and didn't get my plans finished....let's not talk about priorities.  Here's a look at the new unit:
It is 87 pages of Literacy and Math Stations!  Click {here} to see what is included.

As a thank you to my Facebook fans I posted the entire unit as a freebie for 10 minutes.  It was downloaded a little shy of 500 times in that small time frame- Wow!  Thank you to everyone for leaving me such sweet feedback.  I'm sure to do more flash freebies in the future.
If you do not follow on Facebook you can "like" the page now to join in on the fun! :)

Visual Plans (Pumpkin Week) and 3 Newbies!

I realize it is Monday and I am just now posting this week's plans....sorry!  I just couldn't get myself out of Fall Break mode!  I've got some great things to share with you in the upcoming weeks so I hope I can make it up to everyone! :)

Here are 3 brand new babies I posted this weekend!  We played the Boo! Sight Word game today during guided group and the differentiation between sight words and sight word sentences worked well. It helped ease my kiddos back into the routine of stations after our week long break.  {Good thing....because I had my drop-in evaluation today...}
As usual, click on the image to head to the Google Doc.  You can download the plans to make the links hyperactive.  It is Pumpkin Week full of LOADS of good Pumpkin reads.  :)

Pennies Please!! (FREEBIE too!)

Fall Break is coming to an end.....sniff sniff.  I did manage to wrap this one up today though!  I'm really excited about it.  :)

You know how we were shocked when we realized that money is not a Common Core skill in Kindergarten?  Or 1st....? Ok.  I was shocked.  Well this is my solution to getting in some coin exposure while not taking any time away from any of those other CC math skills.

I've created 10 station or small group activities that focus on Counting and Cardinality, Algebraic Thinking, and Geometry.  Each one of the activities is centered around the penny too!  Here are some pictures of the I Cans.

Hopefully I will have the nickel pack finished and posted by the end of the week! :)

Here's a printable penny page that you can grab for FREE.  Hope your kiddos enjoy it!

You can check out the new Penny Pack at my store {here}.  By the way, did you know TpT reached 100,000 Facebook likes this weekend?? Woa.  They are celebrating with a flash sale!  10% off!  I put my store on sale for an additional 20% off through this weekend so you can go shopping for 28% off!
